Vinciness | Cricket Art Book Design
Hardcover cover design for Vinciness, a cricket art book by Jon Hotten created by Fisher Classics Studio
A team effort
I was contacted by the English Cricket writer, Jon Hotten to help with visual presentation of a book he’d written called ‘Vinciness’.
Jon was looking for a short publication run and wanted the book to look and feel like a beautiful artefact.
The outcome was 99 printed pages with cover artwork, end papers, typesetting and chapter artwork created by Fisher Classics Studio.
Printed hardback edition of Vinciness designed as both a short novel and an art object
We chose a hardcover in A5 size to give a deliberate and curated feel to the book
Endpaper spread from Vinciness written by Jon Hotten and designed by Fisher Classics Studio
Endpapers were a 170GSM stock with an arresting spot colour
Collage chapter artwork created for Vinciness to punctuate the book’s stories about cricket, art and life
Each of the 7 chapters started with a zine inspired collage to set the reader into the text
Detail of chapter title pages and graphic elements for the sports art book Vinciness

The chapter artworks and chapter title pages were printed on 130GSM coated stock to give a premium art book quality
